Substance Abuse Outpatient Services  

New Horizons Recovery Center (NHRC) offers intensive outpatient treatment programs for substance abusers and their families. It is a treatment alternative that combines the time and intensity of inpatient treatment with they cost effectiveness and freedom of outpatient care. Anyone that is admitted to this program has an individualized assessment.

Referrals for residential and impatient care may be made when necessary.

Drug Courts

New Horizons also offers in collaboration with the Huntsville-Madison County Criminal Justice System the Family Drug Court Program, the Adult Drug Program, and the Juvenile Drug Court Program. Each program combines the intensity and comprehensiveness of residential treatment with the cost effectiveness and minimal intrusiveness of outpatient treatment to provide an environmental of recovery in the substance abuser's natural environment.

Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program

Adolescent IOP is a 12-week program that addresses the needs of those children and adolescents 12 - 18 years of age in need of substance substance abuse assessment/intervention and/or treatment services. NHRC may receive referrals from the Neaves-Davis Center, adolescents themselves, their parents, schools, physicians, clergy, and other social service organizations.

Each program includes intensive individual, family and group therapy. Groups meet for three hours, three times weekly. After completion of the twelve week IOP Program, an ongoing aftercare is available that meets one time weekly.
