Geriatrics ProgramsGeriatric Programs: The Geriatric Programs are community outreach/mobile programs designed to meet the mental health needs and assist in sustaining the highest level of functioning for elders who reside in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or are considered homebound. The Nursing Home Program provides mental health services and educational programs to all nursing homes in Madison County relating to geriatric mental health issues. Counselors from the Mental Health Center provide services in the nursing homes that have signed a cooperative agreement with the Mental Health Center. The Outreach Program provides counseling and psychiatric services to residents of Assisted Living Facilities (ALF) or to home bound individuals. Outreach Program services are provided by a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW). |
