Ropes Challenge Course

The Mental Health Center"s Ropes Challenge Course involves the use of high and low course elements. The purpose of the course is to stretch potential, discover ability, and inspire growth within each participant. Instructors promote interpersonal skills during team training such as trust, leadership, communication, problem solving, decision-making, self-discovery, and interdependence.

The low ropes course involves physical and mental challenges for teams to overcome. Teams encounter problems that require communication, trust, and responsibility in order to have a successful event. The courses take place less than five feet above the ground. Located about 30 feet up in the trees, the high ropes course activities focus on risk-taking, individual achievement, and self-confidence. The high ropes offer the maximum perceived risk with low actual risk (i.e. a safe way to challenge yourself).

Registration and Fees: The ropes course is open year-round to any group of adults, teens, or children (must be 12 or older). There are corporate, therapeutic, non-profit, and special rates available. Contact Andy Skelton at the Mental Health Center at 533-1970 for more information or availability. You may also contact  him by e-mail at andy.skelton@mhcmc.org.
